Time to get out the winter 'woolies"

Winter is officially here with the onset of 'daylight saving time' (however much longer we'll continue to use that archaic system of timekeeping) and with the change of the clocks comes a change in our sleep pattern - not just because of the time changing !
Our sleep is largely determined by the production of melatonin in the pineal gland and more of it is produced as the nights get darker. Maybe it goes back to our caveman days but that's probably why we get tired earlier in the winter and we want to stay in bed longer; just like the bears, our instinct is that we should almost go in to a state of semi-hibernation. If we are to succumb to these temptations what should we do...?
